A Platform Ministry Department Assistant provides valuable service to the Department Chair and Platform Ministry Instructors by assisting with the practical needs of the classroom as well as offering valuable insight to students into the various dynamics of platform ministry.  Through hands-on training in the specific arenas of discipleship and administration, a Platform Ministry Department Assistant develops well-rounded skills applicable to many aspects of ministry.

Timeframe and Commitment: August 5, 2023- May 31, 2024 (8-10 weekly hours)

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Assist the Department Chair and reinforce instruction taught in the classroom

 

• Set up of technology or media needs

 

• Grading student assignments

 

• Taking notes and typing class summary 

 

• Taking attendance

 

• Attend all classes/department events                                                                                                                                                      

• Assist with organization of and communication concerning weekly ministry trips 

 

• Participate and assist in leading regional ministry trips through student preparation, on-site direction/support, and providing feedback during and after the experience

 

• Assist with Chapel coordination and service flow from the platform

• Lead and teach in labs for 1st and 2nd year students

 

• Personal investment and interaction with students 

 

• Attend regular and impromptu RSM faculty and staff meetings

    

As a Platform Ministry Department Assistant, you will have hands-on ministry experience, specifically in the arenas of services, administration, evangelism, and discipleship. This will further your understanding of work within the Church as well as strengthen your abilities within administration and practical ministry. You will also receive personal discipleship, teaching and relational investment from RSM staff and faculty.
