THIRD YEAR PASTORAL ASSISTANT

A Third Year Pastoral Assistant utilizes communication and organizational skills to provide vital help to the 3rd Year Pastors. By working closely with the Hollingsworths, the Third Year Pastoral Assistant acts as the primary liaison between 3rd Year Pastors and the 3rd Year class and provides practical support to all parties involved. As a trusted member of the 3rd year pastoral team, the 3rd Year Pastoral Assistant operates with utmost confidentiality as he or she grows within the realms of time management, schedule organization, and effective communication.

Timeframe and Commitment: July 15, 2024 - May 5, 2025 (approx. 8-10 hours weekly, possibly more/less depending on meetings and events)

 

Responsibilities:​

 

  • Obtain and maintain current 3rd Year student database and pastoral paperwork

 

  • Act as primary point person for schedules and communication with 3rd Year Pastors and students​

​

  • Must be available for ALL 3rd Year meetings, events, and projects related to 3rd Year pastoral care 

 

  • Handle all logistics of 3rd Year meetings including notifying students of date, time, and place; reserving facilities; setting up media needs; room assembly/breakdown; and assisting with set up/clean up​

 

  • Clerical duties - printing handouts and assisting with gathering other materials for meetings, etc.

​

  • Contribute ideas and help execute plans for experiences and projects that better the 3rd Year experience

​

  • Work with RU Admin Team in assisting with additional administrative/organizational projects including but not limited to the Israel Experience and the Ramp Internship

​

  • Attend regular and impromptu RU faculty and staff meetings

​

  • Occasionally do childcare for Third Year Pastoral staff

 

As a Third Year Pastoral Assistant, you will have hands on ministry experience, specifically in the arenas of ministry administration, leadership, and discipleship. This will bring further understanding and growth of one-on-one ministry, discipleship training, the role of a pastor, and more while working within a variety of parameters laid out by the 3rd Year Pastors. You will also receive personal discipleship, teaching, and relational investment from RU staff and faculty.
