3RD YEAR EXPERIENCE AND COMMITMENTS

Internships are central to the 3rd Year experience at Ramp University.

The classroom experience supplements hands-on leadership training found within each internship. Students receive credit hours for successful fulfillment of internship responsibilities each semester.

As a Ramp Intern, you are a leader entrusted with responsibilities in one or multiple areas of the Ramp. While you lead in these areas, RampU is committed to invest in this process by sharpening your leadership skills and creating opportunities for personal growth.

Outlined below are the experiences and commitments found within the 3rd Year as a Ramp Intern:

STUDENT COMMITMENT

3rd Year Students are enrolled in 2-3 courses* each semester alongside their Internship. In the event that a 3rd Year Student is not fulfilling an internship role, they will enroll in additional courses (up to 5-6 courses total) each semester. *course requirements differ for those in RSW.

INTERN COMMITMENT

As an intern, you are committing to fulfill everything you are entrusted to do within the timeframe outlined in the role description and and to prioritize your schedule including other employment and serving opportunities to do so.

LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCES

PRAYER AND WORSHIP COMMITMENT

  • Morning Prayer + Chapel: attend Monday - Wednesday; lead on Tuesday (on rotation); Thursdays not required

  • Rees Howells Prayer: attend a minimum of two RHPs each month; lead alongside Pastor Josh on platform

  • The David Room / Nights of Ascent [and other prayer and worship spaces]: Engage in one* additional hour of prayer each week outside of Morning Prayer. Sunday services at Ramp Church do not count towards commitment. *requirements differ for those in RML Prayer & Ministry Concentration.

PRAYER LEADERSHIP

3rd and 4th Year Students will actively shepherd one Morning Prayer session each week. You will be on rotation with 8-10 classmates to lead the student body in corporate prayer. Prayer teams will be under the oversight of a RampU Staff member. Teams and rotations will be set at the start of each semester.

ADMIN + ATTENDANCE TEAM

Ramp Interns are required to actively participate in Morning Prayer and Chapel Monday-Wednesday. All Interns also fulfill Attendance Team duties on a scheduled rotation (including Thursdays) set by the RampU Admin Team.

OUTREACH COMMITMENT

All students must participate in Outreach for a minimum of one semester* during their time at RampU. If you have not fulfilled this requirement, you must do so during your 3rd Year. *requirements differ for those in RSM.

STUDENT LIFE AND PASTORAL CARE

3rd Years are fully involved in RampU Student Life. The Student Life Activity Fee ($400) covers all activities for students including the annual Student Life Retreat, events throughout the year, and End of the Year activities. 3rd Years are individually pastored by School Directors and by the leader(s) of the department for which you intern.
